Gail F. (Hewitt) Parkhurst, 76, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Parkhurst and the late Edward F. McMahon.

She was a daughter of the late William F. and Mildred E. (Munn) Hewitt. Gail was a resident of Warwick. She worked for Women & Infants Hospital and Citizens Bank, before retiring. Gail worked in banking since 1974, and started at 1st Federal Savings, Old Stone Bank, and Citizens. She was an eight-time cancer survivor and her greatest loves were religion, books, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was the mother of Michael A. Hewitt and his wife, Lorrinda of Warwick, Kimberly E. McMahon of West Warwick, and Edward F. McMahon of East Greenwich; sister of Barbara Gilmartin and her husband, Edmund of Warwick, and William Hewitt of Idaho; she is survived by three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Gail was the grandmother of the late Ashley G. Sass. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours, Tuesday 4-7 p.m.
