George F. Portrais, 99, a retired employee for the City of Warwick, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017. He was the husband of the late Lena M. (Moura) Portrais.
He was a son of the late Mabel (Marshall) O’Brien and stepson of William O’Brien. George was a World War II Navy Veteran and loved motorcycles, gardening, woodworking, feeding the birds and especially vacationing with his brother and sister-in-law, Manuel and Beatrice Tavares.
He was the beloved father of Paula B. LaCroix and Paul G. Portrais; loving grandfather of Kurt and Erin; loving great-grandfather of Braydn, Hailey, Jace, Justin, Jillian, Timothy and Amanda; brother of the late Charles Portrais, Theodore Portrais and Dorothy Taylor; stepbrother of William and Catherine O’Brien.
