Grant for Greenwood

Posted

Kenneth Rassler, principal of Greenwood Elementary, accepts a $4,000 legislative grant from Rep. David Bennett. With him is Ward 7 Council candidate and former councilman, Charles “CJ” Donovan. In an email, Donovan said parents and Rassler would discuss use of the grant at the next PTA meeting. In the past legislative grants have been applied to various technology improvements for the classrooms. (Submitted photo)

Once again, David Bennet shows how much he cares about Warwick!

Once again, he got us funds that benefited Warwick without costing the Warwick taxpayer!

Once again, he proved why he is a great State Representative!

mayer corrente, just whose money do you think it is? Free money the general assembly found on the street? These grants are political favors given out to loyal grunts and have no oversight. so, i guess in your next term as mayer, you will kiss the speaker's and every other member of the assembly from Warwick's behind so that more "free" money can come into the city.

Mr. Corrente....this 'free' money is just like the highway money. That is 'free' also. Wow.

    Dear Justanidiot and daveberry109,

You are both right. I should have said "It is not just Warwick taxpayer money". Coming from the state, Warwick only contributes a small portion of the total.

Sorry I didn't clarify. Thanks for the correction.

Pictured above are two long term democrat political hacks using taxpayers money, just before a primary to somehow show that they are doing something good for the community. Then there are some of you that praise them for their "good work". It makes me puke. Bennet has done nothing for years, never has attended a council meeting, never spoken on any problem in the city, and takes confiscated tax dollars from a filthy corrupt slush fund and spreads it around to somehow take credit for it, and you are twisted enough to call that "good work". Evidently you havent paid attention to all of the controversy over this type of activity and the fact that it is unconstitutional.

It is done simply for political strategy only, and why the hell is DO NOTHIN DONOVAN in the picture. Oh I forgot, he has a primary and is in need of some PR so peole forget about his DUI conviction while in possession of an illegal hand gun. Two Warwick Gems indeed.

He didnt get funds that benifited Warwick. He got funds that benifited himself and a special interest group. If you cant deceminate that than I dont know what to say. By the way, remember, he voted for the tolls. A program which will continue to errode Rhode Island. Maybe he thinks the "grant" is just in time to take away the attention that he has an opponent due to his vote cast in favor of the tolls. A vote that ignored everyone in the state. Now for $4000 it appears that this was his payoff for decietful behavior. Anyone who supports this shold be ashamed of them, selves.

I have one question for the taxpayers of Warwick: Have You Had Enough?

This Santa Claus routine with the legislative grants has become ridiculous. "Here's the big check for Greenwood (now don't forget who to vote for)." That would be Mr. Bennett, who voted YES on harmful truck tolls and votes with Speaker Matiello 98% of the time. To my neighbors in Greenwood, shall we name the new toll booth at Exit 12 the David Bennett Toll Plaza? We really should recognize this accomplishment, along with handing out our hard-earned taxpayer money like its... FREE!

I'm sure Mr. Bennett is a great guy and loves his city as I do. Unfortunately he has voted against the will of the people of Warwick. This November we have an opportunity to send a message to the corrupt political establishment in Rhode Island, and take back the District 20 seat for the taxpayers of Warwick.

On November 8th, the people have a clear choice in the race for State Rep. I'm Dan Elliott, and I ask for your vote.

    Thank You!
