Gregory Pellicano

Gregory Pellicano, age 87, of Welfare Avenue, Warwick, died on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of the late Joan A. (Handfield) Pellicano.

Born in Warwick, and a life-long resident, he was a son of the late Bruno and Catherine (Crucitti) Pellicano. A 1947 graduate of Aldrich High School in Warwick, he played varsity baseball for all four years. He was United States Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Pellicano was the owner and operator of Royal Engineering in Warwick for 30 years, retiring in November 2010. He was appointed by former Gov. Joseph Garrahy to a four year term on the Mechanical Contractors Licensing Commission. An avid golfer, he was a former member of the Crestwood Country Club in Rehoboth, MA. He was a former member of Norwood Volunteer Fire Co.

He is survived by a son, Gary G. Pellicano, Esq. and his wife, Karen, of North Providence; a daughter, Paula A. Pellicano of Warwick; a sister, Mary Pellicano of Warwick; and two grandchildren. He was the father of the late Gregory R. Pellicano, and the brother of the late Ralph M. Pellicano and Frances Lawlor.

His funeral was held on Friday, August 26, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. William Church, 200 Pettaconsett Avenue, Warwick. Burial with military honors was in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
