The Hendricken cross country team captured the Varsity E title at the 43rd annual Manhattan Cross Country Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. on Saturday.
The Hawks were led by senior Avery Ingegneri, who finished in second place behind only Chris Raslowksy of Xavier High School in New York, N.Y. Ingegneri finished the race with a time of 12 minutes, 53.6 seconds, while Raslowsky crossed the finish line at 12 minutes, 53.1 seconds.
Hendricken’s Dom Parlato came in third with a time of 12 minutes, 54 seconds, and Tom McMahon placed eighth with a time of 13 minutes, 9 seconds.
Other top finishers for the Hawks were: Mike Kiernan in ninth, Jake Cardello in 17th and Max Waite in 20th.
Hawks claim freshmen championship at Manhattan Invitational
The Hendricken freshmen cross country team won the Manhattan Invitational for the first time ever on Saturday behind a 1-2-3 finish from Nick Braz, Dylan Manning and Matt Smaldone.
The Hawks also had three other runners finish in the top 10 with Josiah Johnson coming in sixth, Aidan Tierney in eighth and Michael Del Sesto in ninth.
