The boys’ volleyball teams from Bishop Hendricken and Pilgrim both competed at the annual Rhody Invitational on Saturday at Bryant University. The Hawks, who went 3-4 in pool play, advanced to the finals of the Bronze Bracket, where they fell to Brockton, Mass., 25-18 and 25-17. Hendricken had defeated Central Catholic and Tolman on the way to the finals. Pilgrim went 1-6 in pool play and fell 25-19 to Barrington in the quarterfinals of the Bronze Bracket. West Warwick was the top Rhode Island finisher thanks to a victory over Coventry in the Silver Bracket finals. St. Joseph (N.J.) won the Gold Bracket for its fourth Rhody Invitational championship.
