Recent stories in the Beacon reminded me of happy times I spent at Aldrich High. My favorite teachers were Eleanor Clark, who encouraged my writing, and Joe McKeon, whose sense of humor made math less daunting. Our science teacher was Joseph Rohloff. He inspired me to write this verse:
I think our science teacher
Should have been a preacher.
When sermons get so dry and dull
They will not penetrate the skull,
Then something must be done,
And Rohloff is the one!
