More than $7,000 was raised Oct. 5 for the John Earle Advocacy Fund established in 2008 by the Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center to support legal advocates for victims of domestic violence. The advocates assist victims with restraining orders, safety planning and referrals to the center and other programs. The fund was started shortly after the death of John G. Earle, who served as city solicitor and was the late husband of EBCC executive director Judy Earle. Friends of the Earles hosted a cocktail reception at Café Fresco in East Greenwich. Pictured at the reception are from left, Jane Schwab, Bob Sgroi, Mayor Scott Avedisian, Judy Earle and Ann Earle.
