Ilma (Ragosta) Bichun, 89, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016. She was the wife of the late Jan Bichun.

She was a daughter of the late Michele and Almerinda (Buonanno) Ragosta. When she was young, she worked with her father, who was known as “Meatball Mike” in his restaurant in Cranston. She was a graduate of the URI with a degree in Engineering and worked at Pratt & Whitney until leaving to raise her family. She later worked for Metlife for 20 years as a supervisor. After retiring, she volunteered in community outreach and as a mentor for the Warwick School Dept.

She was the beloved mother of Janice Norden (Thomas), with whom she resided; Jo-Ann B. Camerota (Sal) and David J. Bichun (Joanne). She also leaves ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who she loved very deeply. She was the sister of Gloria N. Halligan and the late Carmine Ragosta and Michele Ragosta, Jr.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, October 29, at 8 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Friday 4-7 p.m.
