Judges couldn’t decide at the Rhode Island Blood Center first Men’s Health Night held Thursday at the Crowne Plaza which was the ugliest tie of the night … so, they took a tiebreaking vote between the neckwear of Ed Zabarski, left, of Lincoln and Joseph Swinski of Cranston. A computer technician at Textron, Ed, with his pizza tie, came out the winner of the $100 ugly tie award. He estimates he has given a total of about five gallons of blood. Joseph said he is working on his seventh gallon of blood donations. He is a massage therapist and runs his own business, working out of Toll Gate Chiropractic.
