Brenda and Raymond “Chip” Bolster were recognized with the Outstanding Philanthropic Citizen Award given each year to an individual or family that exhibits a spirit of exceptional generosity and service at Tuesday’s annual National Philanthropy Day celebration at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet. The Bolsters have given of their time, talent and treasure to a number of Rhode Island organizations over the years, including the Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County, the South County Museum and the Audubon Society of Rhode Island. Raymond Bolster is president and CEO of Centreville Bank. They are seen here with Lauren Nadeau, a senior at St. Mary Academy Bay View who is the winner of the 2012 scholarship awarded by the Rhode Island Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island was the recipient of the 2012 Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation Award for its Blue Angel Community Outreach Program. Performance Physical Therapy received the Outstanding Philanthropic Business Award for its commitment to volunteerism and work to create public awareness of many different organizations, including the Rhode Island Affiliate of Shoulder to Shoulder, and the Providence Children’s Museum.
