(Sequel is mostly
a chase movie)
Jason Bourne has come out of hiding, facing off against his former boss, CIA Director Dewey (Tommy Lee Jones).
This time the plot revolves around the hacking of computer files concerning the CIA program that turned David Webb into Jason Bourne. To further muddy the waters, it somehow involved his father.
The latest sequel isn’t much more than a long chase movie surrounded by computer jargon.
Sure, Matt Damon is great as Jason Bourne. We first see him in Greece, where he knocks out his opponent with one punch in a bare-knuckle fight. It is one of many fights that Bourne wins as we follow him from Greece to Iceland and all over the world, ending up in Vegas for the final showdown. He is chased on foot, motorcycle and car through heavy traffic, where dozens of people and vehicles are destroyed.
The movie is two hours of nonstop action, where it is sometimes hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys. If you like action movies, there is plenty to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Rated PG-13 with lots of violence and some profanity.
