Jack Smith Lindsay, age 81, of West Warwick, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Fratus) Lindsay.

Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Andrew and Marion (Smith) Lindsay. Jack served his country in the United States Army and was a graduate of Bryant College. He was the owner and operator of Lindsay’s Market in Pawtuxet Village of Cranston. Jack also was very active in his community. He was a Past President of the Warwick Rotary and a Past Grand Master of Mt. Vernon Lodge #50 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Jack had served on the Board of Trustees of the Arthur J. Trudeau Center and also on the finance committee at Warwick Central Baptist Church. Besides his great dedication to his community and love for his family, Jack was an avid golfer and a former member of the Potowomut Golf Club.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his three sons: Scott Lindsay and his wife, Ana of Providence, Jack Lindsay and his wife, Farida of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, David Lindsay and his wife, Joanne of Warwick, and one daughter, Heather Lindsay of South Kingstown. He also leaves his ten grandchildren: Marc Titchenell, Chelsea Titchenell, Faith Lindsay, Olivia Lindsay, Shahzad Wahed Khan, Sara Tackett, Musa Lindsay, Isabella Lindsay, Sophia Lindsay, Mateo Lindsay; and a great-grandson, Tarek Khan. He was the brother of the late William Lindsay.

A Funeral service will be held Saturday May 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Warwick Central Baptist Church, 3270 Post Road, Warwick. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church. Burial with military honors will follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston. Calling hours will be from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. on Friday May 8, 2015 at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick.
