James Buddy Silvers

James Buddy Silvers, 87, passed away at home Friday, January 1, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Dolores M. (DeAngelis) Silvers for 68 years.

Born in Higgins, NC, he was a son of the late William and Dora (Edwards) Silvers. Mr. Silvers was formerly employed as a machinist at Bulova Watch Co. A World War II veteran, he served as an Airman with the United States Navy. Mr. Silvers was a member of the Wm. Shields American Legion Post #43 and the Warwick Wanderers.

He was the loving father of Lynn A. Sumner (Carey), Gary D. Silvers (Patricia), and the late James Allen Silvers; brother of Virginia Albright, Shirley Silvers, and the late Ralph, Paris, and Rush Shelton. Mr. Silvers is also survived by six grandchildren, including Lauren, Katie, and Ashley, and four great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial with military honors in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
