James Ralph Fraher, 52, of Warwick, passed away unexpectedly on March 16, 2016.

He was the beloved son of Patricia Fraher and the late Jeremiah Fraher of Londonderry, NH, formerly of North Kingstown, RI. James was a 1981 graduate of North Kingstown High School and graduated from Colby College in 1985 with a B.S. in Chemistry. He continued on to receive a Master’s Degree in Chemical Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography. His Master’s Thesis concerned measuring atmospheric nitrogen input to Narragansett Bay, which involved monitoring stations around the Bay.

A personal highlight of this was his work with the Prudence Conservancy. His career was spent working for T. H. Bayliss Company, Thielsch Engineering, Global Remediation Services and Analytics Environmental Lab. Jim’s passions were traveling, fishing and cooking. He had visited over 50 countries and loved to share tales of his many adventures. A great day for Jim was spent on his boat fishing with friends and family on Narragansett Bay, returning home to cook up a feast and enjoy memories of the day.

He was the brother of Tara Fraher Hathaway and her husband, Douglas Hathaway of Holliston, MA; devoted uncle to Raeburn, Jacob and James Hathaway. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and long time friends.

A private memorial gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date. Information and condolences, visit TheQuinnFuneralHome.com
