Joan Ann Magee, 78, of North Kingstown, died Friday, September 2, 2016 at Kent Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 58 years of Charles F. Magee, Sr.
Born in Warwick, Joan was a daughter of the late Albert Henry, Sr. and Catherine M. (McLaughlin) Henry. She was a graduate of Lockwood High School. Jean was employed as a licensed private detective for the New England Detective Bureau, a family owned business, for thirty years. She also served in the Activities Department at the Scalabrini Villa in North Kingstown.
In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her devoted children: her son, Charles F. Magee, Jr. of North Kingstown, her daughter: Pamela J. Overtoom of Cicero, NY; a brother: Alfred F. Henry of Warwick and four grandchildren: Shannon Magee, Jillian Magee, Brady Overtoom and Jamey Overtoom. She was the sister of the late Evelyn M. Canning, Albert Henry, Jr., William Henry, Martha Gregson, Peter Henry, Elizabeth Marchetti and John Henry.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home (Exit 12-A off I-95). Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 4 PM – 7 PM. Burial will be private.
