Joan (Dougherty) Lazits, age 84, formerly of Bagley Road, Warwick, died on Friday, July 15, 2016, at Kent County Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Francis A. “Frank” Lazits.
Born in Mystic, Connecticut, a daughter of the late John F. and Bessie M. (Perry) Dougherty, she lived in Warwick since 1956. Joan, later in life, retired from Metropolitan Insurance. She enjoyed her time with, and was devoted to, her family. She especially enjoyed their vacation cruises together.
She is survived by a son, Francis A. Lazits, Jr. and his wife, Rhonda of Cranston; three daughters, Christine L. Woodward of Somerset, MA, Kathleen L. Parsons and her husband, Fred of Warwick, and Lydia L. Lazits and her husband, Kevin Fox of West Warwick; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Alma Reynolds and Betty D. Law.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, July 19, from 4-7 p.m., in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. The funeral service and burial will be private.
