Joseph G. Lefoley, 89, of Warwick, died Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Gloria L. (Munroe) Lefoley.

Born in Providence, Joseph was a son of the late John and Mary (Sheehan) Lefoley. He was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII. Joseph was a graduate of LaSalle Academy, Class of 1945 and Providence College, Class of 1951. He was employed as a Quality Assurance Specialist for Supships at Groton, CT and as a machinist at Quonset Point and as a process supervisor at Quonset Point Naval Air Station. Joseph was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Warwick. He was a member of the Social Action Committee at the church and a member of the church choir. He was also an active volunteer at the Warwick Homeless Shelter.

Joseph is survived by his children: Kathleen L. Wright and her companion, Henry E. Hatcher of North Kingstown, Sheila M. Hopkins (Stephen) of Warwick, Stephen G. Lefoley (Karen) of Londonderry, NH, Christopher P. Lefoley (Marian) of Narragansett, Mary A. Armstrong (Bill) of North Kingstown, Martha H. Dean (Edward) of Warwick and Patrick J. Lefoley (Phyllis) of Wakefield; three brothers: Gerald Lefoley (Anne) of Hope Valley, Francis Lefoley (Domenica) of Coventry and Bernard Lefoley of Coventry, fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 9 a.m. from the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 596 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.
