Joseph T. Maxwell, age 96, a resident of Brookdale West Bay, 2783 West Shore Road, Warwick, and formerly of Silby Street, Warwick, died on Monday, August 1, 2016, at Kent County Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary M. (Anderson) Maxwell.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Raymond A. and Mary (Morrison) Maxwell, he lived in Warwick since 1955. He was a United .States Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Maxwell was employed by the former Almacs Stores for 31 years, retiring as a warehouse foreman in1982. He was a member of the Old Warwick Grange and the Conimicut Village Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Marsha E. Gormley, and her husband John F. Gormley, of Warwick; two grandsons, Timothy M. Gormley and Connor J. Gormley; and four great-grandsons, John, Joseph, Patrick, and Thomas. He was the brother of the late Raymond Maxwell. His funeral and burial were private. www.barrettandcotter.com
