K-9 appreciation day planned at Allie’s

Allie’s and Pro-Leash have planned a day full of dog-friendly fun on Saturday, Sept. 5, K-9 Appreciation Day.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. people can stop by Allie’s at 3700 Quaker Lane in North Kingstown for a wide variety of exciting activities for pet lovers and their furry friends, including free samples, dog-approved raffles, training workshops and more. Cat Country’s promotion team and station DJ Meredith Thompson will be at the event from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. giving away prizes including cozies, shirts, key chains, fans and more! Attendees will also have a chance to enter to win tickets to see Brad Paisley in concert.

Following Cat Country, the Rhode Island Canine Search and Rescue Team will be providing both a demonstration and agility course. Those who complete the dog and handler agility course will receive a certificate of completion.

Those looking for expert training advice, won’t want to miss American Patriot Master Dog Trainer Matthew Zarrella’s canine training workshop. Zarrella served as a K-9 trainer for the Rhode Island State Police and developed their first search and rescue K-9 program. During his workshop he will demonstrate how the Pro-Leash can be utilized as a training tool and share his top training tips.

Throughout the day a Ruff Dawg Toy play area will be open and on-site dog grooming with the Pooch Waggin’ will be available. Dogs are welcomed and encouraged. To pre-register visit http://bit.ly/K9Day or contact DaciaDaly@gmail.
