Kent Hospital is holding its second art exhibit featuring the artwork of Care New England staff member Winston Ajce of Woonsocket.
Winston, an employee for the past 13 years, was honored June 19 at an open house that took place at Kent Hospital.
“I am very pleased to recognize the works of Winston Ajce,” said Care New England COO and Kent Hospital President Sandra Coletta. “Winston’s love of nature has wonderfully been captured in his photography and we are delighted to be able to share it and showcase his art in our gallery.”
Kent created this gallery as an opportunity to highlight the rich talent of staff members. It is located in the first floor administration hallway. The public is invited to view the exhibit when visiting the hospital. Kent will highlight staff artwork in the gallery, periodically changing exhibits throughout the year. Artwork is submitted and judged by a review committee and displayed works are available for purchase.
“I am honored to share my passion for photography with my fellow colleagues here at Care New England,” said Ajce. “Here in New England we have some beautiful landscapes that I have been privileged to experience and capture.”
Born in Athens, Greece in 1960, Winston immigrated with his parents to the U.S. shortly after their escape across what used to be called “The Iron Curtain” from Albania to Greece in 1960. He graduated from Rhode Island College in 1985, majoring in computer science, and currently works as a programmer analyst for Care New England Information Services.
In 2002, he became interested in digital photography as a hobby, which has since grown to become his passion. He specializes in local wildlife and landscape photography.
