Kevin D. Kenney, 76, passed away February 20, 2014 at Home & Hospice Care of RI. He was the loving husband of Kathleen (Johnson) Kenney, for 32 wonderful years.
He was a son of the late David and Cecelia (Ryan) Kenney. Kevin retired from RIPTA after 21 years of service and was a proud member of the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local #618. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, where he served with the military police.
He was the father of Colleen Callaghan (Joe), Terrence Lynch (Kelly), Michaela Lynch and the late Brendan Lynch; brother of David Kenney (Louise), Katherine Kenney and the late Elizabeth Reid; beloved grandfather of Christopher Buffery, Kathleen FitzGerald, Kelsey, Erin, Molly and Sarah Lynch; and great grandfather of five; uncle of Steven Kenney (Julie) and the late David Kenney, III.
His funeral was held Monday, February 24 from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. Burial with military honors was in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours were Sunday.
