Born in Cranston, RI, she was the daughter of Edwin and Dolly (Pinocci) Sullivan of Warwick, RI and daughter-in-law of Nicholas and JoAnn Tarbox of North Kingstown, RI. Kim was raised in Warwick, graduated from Toll Gate High School and attended Johnson and Wales University. Before starting her family, she worked for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island. She was the owner of ABC 123 Children’s Consignment Boutique until her illness. Kim was a young athlete and always enjoyed competition. As a child she loved baseball and played for Continental Little League. She excelled and became the first girl drafted to their Major League. At 13 years old she was one of only three girls to play for the all-boys Babe Ruth Baseball League. She also played for Toll Gate High School, Warwick Pal and later in a women's softball league. When her children were young, she enjoyed coaching their soccer and softball teams. She was their biggest fan, seldom missing a game. As team manager for the Bayside Soccer RI team, she enjoyed making the travel arrangements and traveling with the team. Several years ago Kim became involved with Save A Lab. Save A Lab rescues labs from high-kill shelters and always needs volunteers to foster dogs and puppies. Kim agreed to help and it became her passion. The family effort led to adopting their lovable lab Reggie.
