Leo F. Berard, age 84, of Warwick, RI, passed away Friday afternoon, November 20, 2015 at Charlesgate Nursing Home surrounded by family.

Born November 29, 1930, in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Herman J.B. and Eva (Alexander) Berard; brother of the late Clarence Berard and Alma Loescher. Leo was employed at Quonset Point Naval Air Station and American Tool as a machinist until retiring at the age of 60. After retirement he enjoyed driving for Hertz transporting cars for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed watching the Red Sox on television; you can say Red Sox was his passion! Leo retired from the Army National Guard after 25 years of service and was a veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his former wife Roberta Elliott; three children; Denise Berard of Warwick, RI, Lisa Looney of Lexington, South Carolina and Ronald Lamb of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Jessica Scraggs, Melissa Berard, Brianna Benevides, Laura Lamb, Ryan Lamb, Kacey Looney and Bryson Looney; three great-grandchildren, Madison Castaldi, Mason Castaldi and Emma Scraggs; and many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives.

Funeral services for Leo Berard will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI. Burial with full military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter, RI. Friends and family may visit with the family Friday from 4-8 p.m.
