Lillian L. Nurnberger
Lillian L. (Barrette) Nurnberger, 86, a retired registered nurse of Mt. Dora, Fla., formerly of Warwick and Bradenton, Fla., died March 30, 2012 at Edgewater Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Waterman Village, Mt. Dora. She was the wife of the late George F. Nurnberger.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Henry P. and Jeanne (Delisle) Barrette. Lillian graduated from the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing as an RN. During her career, Lillian worked as an RN at St Joseph’s Hospital, as a Home Care Nurse for the VNA of RI, in addition to performing private duty nursing. She was also employed by Gorham Manufacturing and Textron.
Lillian enjoyed playing the organ, watching lots of TV – especially old movies and TV series – loved boating, especially enjoyed holiday meals with family, craved New England lobster when she went out to eat, loved the occasional slot machine with many of them being generous to her, and was most recently a member of the Bell Choir at Waterman Village Bridgewater Facility performing at holiday ceremonies at Waterman Chapel on many holidays.
Lillian was the beloved mother of Phillip G. Nurnberger and his wife, Jan, Nancy J. Fox and her husband, Tom, and Joyce Marie Hatfield and her husband, William. She was the loving grandmother of Thomas Fox IV, Terry Judge and her husband, Brian, Jessica Pasterak, George Pasterak and his wife, Becky, Alyssa Hatfield and Landon Hatfield; great-grandmother of Andrew Judge, Ally Judge and Jake McNeese.
A service will also be held at Waterman Chapel at a future date performed by one of her favorite people, Chaplain Alan Jones. Relatives and friends are invited and welcome at both services. Special thanks and our grateful appreciation to the many special folks at Waterman Village that have helped care for her over the past three years, especially Billie at The Bridgewater and Patty at The Edgewater, both always there for her, and Emma and Cathy, two of the many friends she made in recent years.
Her funeral service will be held April 4 at 10 a.m. in Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be held from 9-10 am. For information and condolences visit www.thequinnfuneralhome.com.
