Lillian M. (Murphy) Kenny, 91, of Warwick passed away on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Golden Crest Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of Joseph F. Kenny.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late James T. and Albertha (Lanoie) Murphy. She resided in Jamestown before moving to Warwick in 2002. Mrs. Kenny was a Senior Clerk for the Department of Transportation, State of Rhode Island Department of Airport until her retirement in 1984. She was a graduate of R.I.S.D., class of 1944 and taught adult education in Providence, Cranston and Warwick. She enjoyed entertaining her family.
She was the loving mother of Joseph J. Kenny and his wife, Kathleen of Cranston, John K. Kenny of West Greenwich and the late Thomas M. Kenny, husband of Patricia Kenny of Cranston. Cherished grandmother of five; and great-grandmother of two. She was the sister of the late James L. Murphy and Rita A. Hannon.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.
