Lynn V. Dunn, 81, of Bassett Avenue, Warwick, died February 20, 2012 at Coventry Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warwick. He was the husband of Charlotte (Stratton) Dunn.
Born in St. Paul, Minn., a son of the late George and Marguerite (Riley) Dunn, he lived in Warwick since 1955. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Dunn was employed by IBM in Providence for 36 years, retiring as a customer service engineer in 1991. He was a tennis player and also played hockey for several years in the Warwick Men’s Hockey League.
Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Dennis L. Dunn and Brian S. Dunn, both of Warwick, and Robert K. Dunn of Narragansett; two stepsons, Roger W. Sundin of Natick, Mass. and Frederick S. Sundin of Newport; a brother and a sister, Thomas Dunn and Marguerite Dunn, both in Minnesota; and a granddaughter. He was the brother of the late George Dunn.
A graveside committal service with military honors will be held Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited to attend (please gather just inside the cemetery entrance.)
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements made by Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, Warwick.
