Margaret M. (Marks) Jenkins, age 95, of Downing Lane, Warwick, died at home on Thursday, July 31, 2014. She was the wife of the late Raleigh M. Jenkins, Sr.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Henry F. and Ella A. (Kdan) Marks, she lived in Warwick for most of her life. During World War II, Mrs. Jenkins was employed at Colonial Beacon Oil Esso, and was known as a “Piston Packin’ Momma.” She was a long-time member and Past Master of the Slocum Grange. She was also a long-time member and Past Deaconess at the Lakewood Baptist Church

She is survived by her three children, Donna Jean Logee and her husband, Terrence of Frederick, Maryland, Raleigh M. Jenkins, Jr. and his wife, Mary-Ellen of Warwick, and Diane M. Lieder and her husband, Joshua of Warwick; ten grandchildren, Bruce, Brian, and Benjamin Logee, Crystal, Lauren, Alexander, and Taylor Jenkins, and Robert, Charles, and Malcolm Makin; and three great-grandchildren, Evangeline and Isaac Makin, and Elliott Logee.

Her funeral was held on Saturday, August 2, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a service in Lakewood Baptist Church, 255 Atlantic Avenue, Warwick. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
