Margaret (Moorehead) Riley, also known as Maggie,Maddie and Madge. On March 5, 2016, Maggie slipped her earthly bonds,to join her parents,Charles and Eileen (Brelsford) Moorehead in Heaven.

Maggie was born and raised in Warwick, RI on April 13, 1959. She was baptized, made her first Holy Communion, Confirmation, and was married in Saint Peter Church in Warwick. She graduated from Saint Peter School in 1973 and Pilgrim High School in 1977. Maggie started her career shortly after graduation with the State of Rhode Island, Labor Standards Division. She started as a receptionist, and rose to Chief Labor Standard Investigator, retiring in 2009.

Maggie’s pride and joy in life was her son, Charlie. She was happiest spending time with him, and they always ended the day, or phone call with “I love you more.” Charlie never left his mom’s side during her last few days on earth, and was by her side when she passed.

Maggie leaves her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Karen (Russo) Moorehead, and sister Judy Morehead. She also leaves her husband, Lemuel Riley. Maggie also leaves her nephews, Jesse and Shane, and her niece Kasey, Moorehead. When Jesse was old enough to talk, he dubbed her “Maddie,” and she stayed Maddie to the end. She loved them as if they were her own children. Maggie leaves many dear friends and cousins. Her best friend was Jennie (Smith) Conway. They became best friends in 1966 and were thick as thieves! She considered her cousins friends, especially Eileen (Matullo) Ellis, Matthew and Jen Ellis, Ryan and Sandy Ellis, Kenneth Pierce and the Andrews and Brelsford families. Maggie is also survived by her mother and father-in-law, Lemuel and Betty Riley. Maggie was preceded in death by her Uncle Ray and Mamie Brelsford, Aunt Geneva Mattullo, Uncle Bill and Aunt Chris Brelsford, and Uncle Sam and Aunt Marion Brelsford.

We know that Maggie stopped at Rainbow Bridge to gather all of her much loved pets. The Moorehead family wishes to thank Maggie’s PCP, Dr. Fadi Mansourati for his care and compassion, the nursing staff on ICU at Memorial Hospital of RI, especially Val Breault, RN, Jackie Bowker, RN, and Anna Hughes RN, as well as the medical staff. The staff of Hospice of Nursing Placement was instrumental in Maggie’s transfer to her sister Judy’s home for end of life care, especially Dawn Shea, RN, and her CNA Maryann, who lovingly cared for Maggie and spent time talking with Charlie to ease his concerns.
