Marilyn (Utton) Mastrostefano 71, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. She was the beloved wife of John B. Mastrostefano.

She was born in Providence, the daughter of the late Janet (Rounds) Utton and Edward Utton. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Marilyn was a graduate of Central High School and attended Rhode Island College. She was a talented writer who penned three novels. She enjoyed traveling, drawing, reading and cake decorating. She was a communicant of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Providence where she was on the altar guild and a member of the choir.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, John B. Mastrostefano, Jr. and his wife, Gayle of Florida, Michael Mastrostefano and his wife, Julie of East Providence, Daniel Mastrostefano and his wife, Kelly Gallagher of Providence; her cherished grandchildren, Gianna, Joseph, and Victoria; her great-grandson Giovanni; and her loving sister Deborah (Utton) Walker of Cranston.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. followed by a funeral service at Butterfield Home and Chapel at 500 Pontiac Avenue in Cranston.
