Mark G. Alarie, 62, passed away with his loving family at his bedside September 13, 2016 after battling an illness for several years.

A lifelong resident of Rhode Island, he was the beloved son of Anne (Favali) Alarie and George Alarie and his wife, Joan. Mark was an extraordinarily committed employee for 35 years for Crafts Inc., the company his father founded and co-owned. A graduate of LaSalle Academy, class of 1972, he went on to study business at Bryant and Rhode Island College. As a young man he loved playing ice hockey and baseball and was active in the Boy Scouts of America. He also played softball in his adult years helping win a championship in 1991 while playing with his brother Tom for a team named General Space. Mark also served as best man at Tom’s wedding and is the proud godfather to his niece Samantha Alarie-Leca. He loved spending time with his family and friends and talking sports, especially the Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots. Mark will be most remembered for his kind heart and witty sense of humor.

He is also survived by his beloved daughter Dorothy-Anne Alarie and her boyfriend, Michael Spinler; his former wife and best friend, Rhonda (Lantini) Alarie; his siblings Annemarie Chase and her husband, William, Susan Brown and her husband, James, Thomas Alarie and his wife, Pamela, Paula Alarie-Leca and her husband, Raymond, Mary Pelletier, and Kim Alarie and her life partner, Daniel Ferreira, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Friday 4-7pm followed by a service at 7 pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution to the America Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd. Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
