Mary L. (Curci) Lyckland, 99, a lifelong resident of Warwick, passed away at The Village House Nursing Center in Newport on November 3, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur R. Lyckland for 49 years before he preceded her in death.

Mary was the daughter of the late Adolph and Agnes (La Salvia) Curci. Mary began working for New England Telephone Co. as a young woman, which became a 41 year career, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church. Mary had a love for antiques and linens and spent her leisure time searching for the right treasure to refinish and restore. Mary also loved to garden and bake and was known for her apple pie, fruitcakes and her “famous” banana bread. Mary’s smile, strength and spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her 3 loving sons, Arthur Lyckland Jr., Michael Lyckland and his wife, Denise, Thomas Lyckland and his wife, Diane, all of Warwick; and her daughter Kathleen Weibel and her husband, Jay of Newport. She leaves eight grandchildren, Micaela, Jennifer, Ian, Danielle & Marissa Lyckland and Evan, Christopher and Brooke Weibel; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was the loving sister to her 10 brothers and sisters who preceded her in death: Vincenza Brennan, Josephine Curci, Salvatore Curci, James Curci, Rose Cotter, Italia “Edythe” McMullen, Diego “Dick” Curci, Gloria Paolozzi, Adolph “Junior” Curci, and Rudolph Curci.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, November 8, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
