Thanks to Kent Hospital, which provided the venue and the cooking, the Warwick Rotary May breakfast was a financial hit with the club being able to provide funding to the hospital’s KEEP [Kent Employee Emergency Program] as well as to add to the service club’s charitable giving. KEEP provides emergency assistance funding to employees facing difficult times. Since being founded five years ago, the program has assisted 98 employees and given a total of nearly $200,000. Funds raised by the Rotary Club support a variety of local charitable non-profits in addition to providing scholarships and supporting causes of Rotary International, including the eradication of polio and shelter boxes. The boxes are packed with items, including a tent and cooking implements that are rushed to disaster victims.
