Meeting of Minds to weigh news & philosophical questions

Posted

Talk about life’s big questions. Chew over philosophy and current events in a fun, respectful, and relaxed conversation at the Warwick Public Library on Wednesdays at 10 a.m.

Each session starts with a 45-minute discussion of the day’s news and will continue with such philosophical questions such as: What is a good life? Do we have free will? How do we choose between conflicting moral values?

The Sept. 10 meeting will tackle the question: What is reality?

The group will choose seven more questions to discuss during the fall.

The library welcome desk will have ballots to cast votes on topics.

Meeting of the Minds gathers bi-weekly on Sept. 10 and 24, Oct. 8 and 22, Nov. 5 and 19, and Dec. 3 and 17. The group meets from 10 a.m. to noon.

Register online at warwicklibrary.org or call 739-5440, x4. For more information, call 739-5440, x221. The Library is located at

600 Sandy Lane. This event is free and open to all.

How about the library having this at night sometimes?

Then the working stiff can explain reality to the pensioners who are sucking on the government's teat.
