James D. Engelhardt, 42, of the north end of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away July 7th, 2013.

Jim was born and raised in Rhode Island, the youngest of 6 children. Jim served honorably in the United States Navy. He was discharged in Norfolk, Virginia and made Virginia Beach his home. He worked in sales for Richmond Electric Supply Co. Jim was a fan of everything Boston, the Red Sox, the Patriots, the Bruins and the Celtics. He also loved the beach, his toys and the Brass Bell.

He is survived by his daughter, Abygale Engelhardt and her mother Rebecca Counterman; his brothers, David, Steven, Robert and Thomas and his sister Karin; and also by his Uncle Walter Little and Aunt Carol Little and Uncle David Engelhardt. He was the proud godfather of Emily & Kevin; and he is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews and too many best friends to count.

Services were at Woodlawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 6329 Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502. Visitation was July 11th and the funeral service was July 12th. Flip Flops were optional as Jimbo would appreciate.

Interment will be held at a later date in Rhode Island, where he will rest along with his parents and grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a college fund set up for Abby. Checks should be made payable to “College America” and mailed to Kathy & JT Moore, 3707 Camelot Dr, Annandale, VA 22003.
