Michael “Blacky” F. Black

Michael “Blacky” F. Black, 67, of Edgewater, Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Halifax Health Hospice Center in Port Orange, Fla. He was the husband of Joan Black of Edgewater, Fla.

He was born and raised in RI and the beloved son of Raymond F. Black and the late Mary Jane (Iantosco) Black. He was a former barber at Alba-Ronci Barbershop, a member of teamster Local 251 for 15 years and Owner of Warwick Pallet Company. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins fan his entire life. He also participated in the over 50 softball league where he was an MVP. He was a dedicated coach for the Apponaug Girls Softball League for several years and his company, Warwick Pallet, sponsored a championship team.

He leaves his loving and dedicated brother, Raymond Black, and his spouse, Lynn. Raymond cared lovingly for his brother throughout his courageous battle with cancer. He leaves a son, Christopher M. Black and his spouse, Wendy, of Warwick; a daughter, Kelly Vieira and her spouse, Jason, of Warwick; a daughter, Casey Black of Warwick; a stepson, Bradford Mcilvaine of Edgewater, Fla.; five grandchildren, Alison, Christopher and Angela Black, Cameron Prata and Jason Vieira Jr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A private reception and time of remembrance for family and friends will be held at a later date.
