Michael P. Wheeler, age 65, of Brook Spring Drive, Warwick, died on Monday, July 14, 2014, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the husband of Catherine A. (Combies) Wheeler.

Born in Providence, the son of the late Clinton F. Wheeler, Jr. and Mildred M. (Fleming) Wheeler, he lived in Cranston before moving to Warwick twenty-eight years ago. He served with the RI Army National Guard for six years. Mr. Wheeler was employed as a metal finisher at Electrolyzing, Inc in Providence for nine years, retiring in March 2013. He was previously employed at the former Microfin Corporation in Providence for many years.

Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Joshua C. Wheeler and his wife, Corry L., of Warwick, Daniel J. Wheeler and his wife, Kimberly R., of Stoughton, Massachusetts, and Sgt. Brian T. Wheeler, RIARNG, of Warwick; and three grandchildren, Delanie Eve Wheeler, Emerson Mae Wheeler, and Liam Michael Wheeler.

His funeral will be held on Friday, July 18, at 8:45 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8 p.m.
