The Toll Gate football team found its way into the win column for the first time in just over a month on Friday night, downing rival Warwick Vets 26-2 in a non-league game.

The Titans improved to 3-7 overall, as they now have two non-league wins to go with their 1-7 Division III record. Vets, meanwhile, stayed winless, as it dropped its third straight non-league game, and fourth overall, to go with an 0-7 D-II campaign.

Toll Gate was led by junior running back Alex Mowry, who accounted for all four of the Titans’ touchdowns to go along with 147 rushing yards on just nine carries.

Sean Vann and Nick Lemoie also had solid games offensively for the Titans. Vann carried the ball 17 times and compiled 80 yards, while also adding a two-point conversion. Lemoie added 65 yards on 11 carries.

That Titans took a 12-2 lead into the half and tacked on two more touchdowns down the stretch to secure their third victory of the season.

The ’Canes will have one final chance at a victory this season, and it’s an important one, as they’ll travel to Pilgrim for the annual Thanksgiving Day game, this Thursday at 10 a.m.

Toll Gate will also play one more game this season, as it will play its Thanksgiving game on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at Bishop Hendricken.
