NEASC grants NEIT authority to offer master-level degree programs

New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) has been granted general authority to offer master-level degree programs within the scope of its mission by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) Inc., Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. Founded in 1885, NEASC is the nation's oldest accrediting association, serving more than 2,000 public and independent schools, colleges and universities in the states of Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and American/international schools in more than sixty nations worldwide. NEASC is characterized by a commitment to establishing and maintaining high standards for all levels of education through doctoral degrees.

New England Tech’s current Master of Science degree programs all received individual NEASC accreditation through an extensive review process that included an evaluation of the university’s ability to offer high quality graduate level programs. With the new general authority designation, New England Tech no longer needs to submit new master’s degree programs to NEASC for review and approval.

President Richard Gouse stated, “Our administration, faculty and staff have worked diligently and are proud to have achieved the NEASC general authority designation. New England Institute of Technology will continue to develop high quality online/hybrid graduate-level programs through our newly established College of Graduate and Professional Studies. As been our mission since 1940, New England Tech will continue to provide specialized associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs that prepare students for professional and technical careers.”
