As summer begins to fade, Rhode Islanders will get one more chance to go to camp at WordCamp RI.
New England Institute of Technology will host the 2015 WordPress WordCamp RI Sept. 25 and 26 at its East Greenwich campus.
WordPress, which originated in 2003 and has grown to the world’s largest blogging tool, is an online publishing platform where users can create their own websites.
Creating your own website comes with its challenges and questions, all of which WordCamp RI tries to address. The two-day event will feature expert speakers to discuss topics from development to blogging, on all levels of understanding.
The event will also feature the “Happiness Bar,” or help desk, where attendees can bring their laptops and have one-on-one consultation for help on their individual WordPress sites.
Aaron Ware, co-organizer of WordCamp RI and president of the Linchpin Agency, said in a press release, “It’s hard to paint the value attendees get out of WordCamp RI. There are amazing speakers, the Happiness Bar help desk staffed with knowledgeable volunteers, and opportunities to network.”
Tickets are $20 per person and free for students. To register for the event, visit https://rhodeisland.wordcamp.org/2015/tickets. Admission includes both days, lunch, a T-shirt and the reception.
