The National Day of Prayer on May 7 will be observed on the steps of Warwick City Hall at noon with prayers for the city, state and nation.
Lu-Ann Perkins, who is organizing the Warwick event, will open ceremonies with an invocation to be followed by welcoming remarks by Mayor Scott Avedisian. Also participating will be the Rev. Paul Gay of the Apponaug Pentecostal Church , Retired Col. Geraldine Youlden, Chaplain of Women for the Providence Rescue Mission, Gail Lund and students of the Apponaug Christian Academy. The public is invited to attend.
