Norwood association to hear talk on drug abuse

A general meeting of the Norwoofd Neighborhood Association will be held May 5 at 7 p.m. at the Norwood Boys & Girls Club, 43 Frederick St. There will be a community police report on crime activity in the neighborhood. Then, the guest speaker will be Officer Nelson Carreiro, who will present a visual presentation on "Drug Abuse in the Community," reflecting on trends that have cost over 200 drug overdose deaths in Rhode Island in 2014. Families with juveniles are encouraged to have them attend so that they can see and appreciate the severity of the problem. All are welcome and refreshments and snacks will be served.
