Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt in Warwick had their official ribbon cutting ceremony last Thursday, and General Treasurer Gina Raimondo was there to do the honors. The Warwick location, at 1000 Bald Hill Road behind Panera Bread, is the fifth Orange Leaf shop in the area, with others in East Greenwich, Newport, Kingston and Seekonk, Mass. They plan to open another location in Cranston soon. Between all of the shops in Rhode Island, Jay Patel, territory owner for R.I. and greater Mass., said they have created 100 new jobs. The new location boasts 18 self-serve flavors and is one of the largest stores in the area. “It’s what Rhode Island should be: Open for business and friendly,” said Raimondo before cutting the ribbon (and after sampling several flavors). The location has been open since September, but they held their official grand opening ceremony last week. Pictured with Gina Raimondo (center) are, from left, Geeta Chougule, Jay Patel, Rep. K. Joseph Shekarchi, Councilwoman Camille Vella-Wilkinson, Councilman Joe Gallucci, Sonal Patel and Prutha Patel, VP of Orange Leaf RI.
