PAL 13's celebrate state championship at McCoy

It was a summer to remember for the Warwick PAL 13-year-old all-star, and the team’s accomplishments were honored on Monday at McCoy Stadium.

Warwick received its 2014 Prep Division state championship trophy on the field at a Pawtucket Red Sox game. Making it more special was the presence of manager Billy Piccirillo, who had quadruple bypass surgery last Wednesday.

Intent on walking onto the field to accept the trophy with the team, Piccirillo was discharged from the hospital just hours before the ceremony.
