Parents asked to join teachers in solidarity

Posted

To the Editor:

On Friday, Dec. 11 the parents of Norwood School will be standing in solidarity with the Norwood teachers. It is unacceptable that almost halfway through the year there is still no contract. It is demeaning to these professionals that they are not treated with the respect that their position and service deserve.

The School Committee has made it abundantly clear that it does not want to hear the voice of the parents by limiting or cutting off public comment and not responding to emails.

If you support your teachers in your school, join us by standing with your teachers at the beginning of the school day to show solidarity with the teachers. Parents and teachers are partners in educating our children; we all want the best for our children, for the students of Warwick.

Norwood parents will be standing in front of the school at 8:30 a.m. Take a stand and show your support!

The students can go stand by themselves, watching all the self-serving adults grandstand.
