Patricia E. Olsen. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia “Pat” Olsen on October 14, 2014. Pat was born October 12,1938 in Warwick, RI. She lived most of her life in Oakland Beach, RI

Pat was the cherished daughter of Irene Loud and William Cavanaugh and stepfather Richard Loud. She was educated at Saint Clare’s in Providence, RI and married George E. Olsen Sr. in 1956. Together they had 5 sons. George Olsen Sr. was a fireman for the Warwick Fire Department. He passed away in 1980 due to complications from diabetes. Pat was left with 3 sons still at home. She raised her sons alone with lots of help from her mother Irene and father Bill.

Pat was what her mother would call, “a hot ticket.” She was small, smart, and cute, and liked to shock people with her choice of words. She loved all animals, especially manatees, and horses. She had many dogs, cats, and birds in her lifetime. She was diagnosed with CNS lymphoma in March of 2014. She was a fighter and will be remembered by those who cared for her during her illness as a feisty, outspoken lady. Her sons, and their families will sorely miss Pat.

Pat was predeceased by her parents, stepfather, her husband, her son Christopher J. Olsen in 1990, and her grandson Nathan Cicerone in May of 2005. She is survived by her four sons: George Olsen Jr. and his wife, Celine of Hartford, NY, William Olsen and his wife, Karen of Nashville, TN, Charles Olsen and his wife, Gina of Warwick, RI and Patrick Olsen of Warwick, RI. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren: Jessica Trevino and her husband, Mike and their two daughters Miette and Simone of Phoenix, AZ, Ashley Olsen Craig of Austin, TX, Tyler J. Olsen of Phoenix, AZ, Natalie Hayes and her husband, Shawn and their two daughters Amelia and Charlotte of Hartford, NY, Maria-Faith and Sophia Olsen of Hartford, NY, Cory Frazier of Rhode Island, Jared Valley of Warwick, RI, and Daniel Nogawa and his daughter Adrianna of Florida.

A special thanks and appreciation to the staff on Midtown at Washington Center, Argyle, NY. She referred to you all one time as “the girls that stay up all night and talk dirty; I have more fun with them”

There will be a Mass of Christian burial at St Rita’s Catholic Church in Warwick RI on November 8,2014 at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick RI. We will gather after the burial to celebrate Pat’s life at a place to be announced.
