Patrick A. Kennedy, age 74, of Proctor Avenue, Warwick, died at home on Monday, September 28, 2015. He was the husband of the late Rose M. (Mitchroney) Kennedy.

Born in Providence, the son of the late William D. and Helen E. (Burke) Kennedy, he lived in Warwick since 1959. He served in the United States Air Force from 1959-1963. He earned an AS in paralegal studies from Providence College, and a BS in business administration from Bryant College. Mr. Kennedy was a revenue officer in special investigations for the RI Division of Taxation before retiring 10 years ago. Previously, he was employed with the Providence Journal-Bulletin from 1973 to 1996, retiring from the Journal as Circulation Administration Manager. He was a past president, past treasurer, and past member of the board of directors of the Providence Journal Employees’ Federal Credit Union.

Pat was an associate member of the RI Association of Public Accountants. He had served as chairperson and vice chairperson of the Warwick Ward 1 Democratic Committee, was a member of Warwick Council #2295 Knights of Columbus, and Father Wallace Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a former assistant treasurer of the Warwick Columbus Credit Union. He had been a Warwick Police Constable. Pat was a communicant of St. Peter Church in Warwick.

He is survived by a sister, Michaela Rowlett and her husband, Warren, of Narragansett; his sister-in-law, Mary Mitchroney of Cranston; nieces, Cathy St. Jean, Bernice Bonadie, Sheila Capobianco, and nephew Steven Mitchroney. He was the father of the late David Patrick Kennedy.

His funeral was held on Saturday, October 3, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick.
