A Warwick resident employed as a Pawtucket high school teacher is facing child pornography charges.
George Grimes, 46, of 787 Narragansett Parkway, is charged with possession of child pornography. He was arrested Thursday, arraigned in Third Division District Court and released on $10,000 personal recognizance on the condition that he have no Internet access and no contact with children.
Grimes is employed as an English teacher at Charles E. Shea High School in Pawtucket. There is currently no evidence that indicates Grimes has had any inappropriate contact with children, according to state police.
The Rhode Island State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and Computer Crimes Unit began their investigation after receiving a complaint from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating that an individual was uploading images of child pornography to a cloud-based storage account.
As a result, a court-authorized search warrant was executed at Grimes’ address, where alleged child pornography was located and digital media was seized for further analysis.
