He estimated the value of the playhouse at approximately $300. Marshall said she spoke with the neighbors, however no one had nay information to provide in connection with the theft. No suspects.

SMASHED WINDOWS

Officer Aaron Kay was dispatched to St. Gregory the Great Church at 360 Cowesett Road at approximately 5:54 p.m. on July 4 for the report of a larceny from a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, Kay met with a woman, who said she and her husband parked their car in the parking lot at approximately 4:45 p.m. and went into church. When they returned to their vehicle at approximately 5:45, they discovered that two of their vehicle windows were broken, with items missing from the vehicle. The woman said the front passenger’s window was smashed out, as was the rear driver’s window. Kay said he observed the vehicle and the broken windows, with glass both inside and outside of the vehicle. The woman said the following items were taken: her purse, which contained her wallet, miscellaneous credit cards, work keys, and iPhone; and a black bag with red trim that she uses for work, which contained a briefcase with work papers. Kay said he checked the building and there were no surveillance cameras observed on the exterior of the church. No suspects or witnesses.

STOLEN PHONE

Officer Randy Francis responded to the lobby of the Warwick Police Station at approximately 9:41 a.m. on July 1 for a reported stolen cell phone from a vehicle that occurred on June 23. Francis met with the reporting party, who said at approximately 6:30 that night, he and his daughter went to the Showcase Cinemas at 400 Bald Hill Road to watch a movie and on his way home, he could not find his phone, which he left in the center console of his vehicle. When he arrived home, he said he searched his vehicle but could not locate his phone. He told Francis he believes it was stolen from inside his vehicle. He said the vehicle was not damaged and was unlocked while parked in the lot. He described the phone as an iPhone 6, which is a company phone owned by Cox Communications that has specific tracking software that the Cox Communications Information Technology Department had installed on the phone. The man said the Cox I.T. Department will attempt to locate the phone by tracking it through the software and if they find a lead as to where the phone may be, they will notify Warwick Police. The report was sent to detectives for a follow-up investigation.

LOST LANDSCAPING EQUIPMENT

Officer Randy Francis responded the lobby of the Warwick Police Department at approximately 10 a.m. on July 2 for a reported larceny of various pieces of landscaping equipment. Francis spoke with the victim, who said on June 27 at approximately 5:30 p.m., he had secured his trailer in the rear lot of the Newport Creamery located in the Governor Francis Plaza at 1256 Warwick Avenue and on June 29 at approximately 6:30 a.m. when he arrived at his trailer, he noticed that someone had broken the lock to his trailer and stole multiple pieces of landscaping equipment. When inspecting the damage to his trailer, the man said the suspect(s) had broken off the bolt to the locking hinge and was able to make entry. It also appeared that the suspect(s) had attempted to make entry into the rear door of the trailer, “as there were several puncture holes through the door.” No entry was made through the rear portion of the trailer that housed several lawn mowers. The man said the rear damage was new and appeared to be fresh. Francis inspected the trailer and confirmed it appeared the suspect pried off the bolt attaching the hinge. The following items were taken from the trailer: one Echo PB 755 blower at $425; one Shindaiwa EB 802 blower at $550; Husquarna 150 BT blower at $325; one Echo HC 152 hedge trimmer at $300; two Echo SRM 225 trimmers at $200 each ($400 total); one Echo PAS 225 power source at $399; one Echo attachment at $199; one Echo CS-271T chainsaw at $329; one 250 piece Craftsman tool set at $99; and one Lesco spreader at $199. The man said all of the Echo brand landscaping equipment was unique, in that he had spray painted the equipment’s casing “matte” (flat) black to make them appear older (Echo brand equipment typically has a bright orange casing). The man said he asked various businesses at the plaza if they had surveillance video, but none did. No suspects or witnesses.

MISSING

MOUNTAIN BIKE

Officer Britton Kelly responded to the lobby of the Warwick Police Department Headquarters at 10:39 a.m. on July 3 for a larceny report. Upon arrival, Kelly met with a woman, who said a friend of her son had his mountain bike stolen off of her property. She described the bike as a maroon colored Smokeypoint Roadmaster mountain bike with dual type handle bars, a small black bag below the seat, and a gray cushion seat that was not original to the bike but was added later. She told Kelly the bike was last seen at approximately 11:50 p.m. on June 30 and she noticed it was missing the next morning. Even though the woman is not the bicycle owner, she said she wanted to report the stolen bicycle in the event that it was turned in to the department as found property. Kelly checked the recent dispatch logs but said no bicycles have been turned in since June 30. A copy of the report was forwarded to detectives for review.
