She said the backhoe was parked at the fire station on Palm Boulevard all weekend. She said when the vehicle was parked there on Friday afternoon there was no damage. She told Myer the window costs approximately $600 to replace and advised AGI wishes to press charges if the suspect is found. No suspects.

SHOPLIFTING

Officer Timothy Lipka responded to Macy’s at Warwick Mall, 400 Bald Hill Road, at approximately 4:20 p.m. on July 11 for the report of a shoplifting. Lipka said Dispatch advised a male had concealed expensive shirts and had been chased out of Macy’s by Loss Prevention. Dispatch further advised the male left the area in a silver sedan bearing Florida registration. Upon arrival, Lipka said he checked the area but was unable to locate the suspect vehicle. Lipka said he then met with a loss prevention associate, who said she observed a male who was acting suspiciously in the Polo Department. She said she followed the subject on the cameras as he exited the store via the northwest door. When he exited the store, she said he ran to a gray or silver older model Nissan Altima, which did not have a license plate on the front of the vehicle but had a rear Florida plate and black rims. She said the male opened the trunk of the vehicle and removed two Polo shirts from inside his shorts and threw them in the trunk of the vehicle. She described the suspect as a thin white male, in his 30s, with long brown hair in a ponytail and a mustache, wearing a dark green T-shirt with camouflage shorts. After reviewing the footage of the Polo Department, she observed the male subject entering the Polo Department where he selected two shirts, which he concealed into his pants. She said the items were valued at $89.50 each, for a total of $179. The woman told Lipka the man passed all points of purchase and failed to render payment for the items and that the store wished to press charges. Lipka said he obtained a written statement, itemized receipt, and two DVDs from the loss prevention agent. The receipt and written statement were submitted into Records, and the two DVDs were issued property tags and placed into the BCI mailbox.

BIKES STOLEN

Officer Britton Kelly was dispatched to the Comfort Inn at 1940 Post Road at approximately 8:50 a.m. on July 11 for the report of a larceny of two bicycles. Upon arrival, Kelly met with the victim, who said he parked his vehicle on July 10 at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the rear parking lot of the Comfort Inn hotel. He said on the back of his van, he had an attached bicycle holder where he and his family’s four bicycles were attached and locked. He said that when they came out that morning at approximately 8:30 a.m., he noticed two of the bicycles were stolen and the lock was broken. He said it appeared the suspect attempted to disable the second lock that was securing the other two bicycles but was unsuccessful. The man told Kelly both of the bicycles were Trek Hybrid bicycles, one of which was gray and blue with two green bottle holders, the second was a black Trek Hybrid with a black tool holder under the seat and a teal colored bottle holder. On the black Trek Hybrid, he said there was also a cat eye GPS system on the tires. The computer itself was not on the bicycle, which the man showed Kelly. Kelly said he had locked that in the vehicle overnight. The man said he had photographs as well as serial numbers of the bicycles and that once he got the information, he would forward it to Kelly. Kelly said Comfort Inn did not have any exterior surveillance that could be checked. The report was forwarded to Detectives. No suspects.

Chanthaphouvong said it should be noted that the woman’s passenger had inadvertently left the passenger’s side window partially open. The woman said she wished to press charges if the suspect were caught. With the assistance of the store manager, Chanthaphouvong said he was able to view the surveillance video for the area where the incident occurred. He said he observed at 10:02 a.m., the suspect, who was described as a stocky white male with dark hair and a goatee. The male arrived at the parking lot and parked his vehicle, a 1986-1996 white Cutlass Sierra, next to the woman’s. The suspect then purchased some items with an EBT card. Chanthaphouvong said it should be noted that Wal-Mart was unable to get the full card number due to it being an EBT card. Chanthaphouvong said he attempted to conduct numerous cross checks of the suspect vehicle for a white Cutlass Sierra from model years 1986 to 1996 and was unable to locate any registered owners that had photographs that matched that of the suspect.
